When you use the phrase “I’ll be a good provider” to describe the process of getting a prescription for Viagra, it doesn’t mean that you have to take it, or that you’ll get the benefits of the drug (or you won’t).
You may have heard it from others who were unaware that it’s the only erectile dysfunction drug that is FDA-approved and widely available. In fact, it’s also the first drug that is FDA-approved in the world and it’s available for the first time on the market.
Here, I’ll walk you through the process of getting the FDA approved to prescribe Viagra for men with erectile dysfunction (ED).
The drug has been available to men since 1998. Viagra is the brand name of the drug Cialis, and it’s one of the most widely used drugs in the world. You can read more about the process of approval by reading.
Viagra is a very different drug from Cialis. Viagra doesn’t come in a pill form (in the form of a film-coated tablet), and therefore it doesn’t work in the same way as other ED drugs do. Viagra works by increasing blood flow to the penis, and in turn, can help with erections.
Viagra comes in the form of a pill. The pill is a film-coated tablet. It contains tadalafil and has an active ingredient called sildenafil citrate. The active ingredient is Sildenafil.
Sildenafil works by blocking an enzyme called PDE-5, which is responsible for breaking down cyclic GMP, a chemical in the body that causes erections. By doing so, it helps improve blood flow to the penis, resulting in an erection.
When Viagra is taken in the form of a pill, the drug doesn’t work properly. It only helps the penis with erections, so the penis isn’t able to harden when sexually excited. This is why men can’t have sex while taking Viagra, because they don’t want to take the medication. It doesn’t work for men who have a chronic health condition like diabetes, heart disease, or high cholesterol.
Like any drug, Viagra can cause side effects. Most of the side effects are temporary. Some of them include:
If you experience any of these side effects or if you have any concerns about them, talk with your doctor. In general, it’s advised to see a doctor before starting a new medication.
Like any drug, Viagra can interact with other medications. Viagra, in particular, can cause side effects, but they are generally mild and can usually be safely taken under the guidance of a healthcare provider. They include:
Taking Viagra with other medications may also cause side effects, such as a prolonged erection or decreased blood flow. It’s important to discuss the risks and benefits of taking Viagra with your doctor.

1.Nitrates (e.g., nitroglycerin, isosorbide dinitrate): Cialis and nitrates both lower blood pressure. Taking them together can cause a significant and potentially life-threatening drop in blood pressure (hypotension), leading to dizziness, fainting, or even heart attack or stroke. It is contraindicated to use Cialis with nitrates or recreational "poppers" (amyl nitrites).
2.Alpha-blockers (e.g., prazosin, terazosin, tamsulosin): Both Cialis and alpha-blockers relax blood vessels, which can lead to excessive blood pressure reduction when used together. This may result in dizziness, fainting, or orthostatic hypotension (a sudden drop in blood pressure when standing). If needed, your doctor may adjust the dosage or recommend spacing the medications.
3.Other antihypertensive drugs (e.g., atenolol, propranolol, enalapril, lisinopril): Cialis can enhance the blood-pressure-lowering effects of these medications. While this interaction is usually less severe than with nitrates or alpha-blockers, it can still cause dizziness or fainting in sensitive individuals. Close monitoring of blood pressure is recommended.
Cialis (tadalafil) can interact with certain foods and beverages, potentially altering its effectiveness or increasing the risk of side effects. Here are the key drug-food interactions to be aware of:

When I was diagnosed with benign prostatic hyperplasia, I was very hesitant to see anyone, but after I started having erections, my erections got so much better. After starting the medication, I was able to get the results I needed, and it was great. I didn’t realize that I had been so reluctant to talk with anyone about it, but when the time came, I couldn’t wait any longer. I had been so afraid to talk to anyone and was so ashamed of being afraid of what I felt was a mistake. I was hesitant to talk to my doctor, but when I first came to see him, he knew how much I was involved. He did something about my body, and when I started to speak to him, he was so supportive. It was just so beautiful to hear his words, and I have to say that he took the most pleasure from the talk, and he was so proud of the way I was handling my condition. I really hope I can say this, but it is important to be very honest with my doctor. I had a very difficult time talking to my doctor about this, but once I did, I was able to start to feel more confident in my ability to get an erection. The most important thing I want to say is that I was very surprised by the positive experiences of people that I met with this treatment. I was so proud that I felt so empowered to get a really good experience with a new partner, and I could do it all again. I know that if I continue to feel like I am a failure, it can be just as bad as it was before, and I am so glad to have someone that can help me. I am so grateful for the quality of the care that he has shown me, and I am so glad that he is so supportive and able to do it with me. I hope that this journey of trying to find what I needed, and not worrying about my health and how I was feeling, will lead to the best of all possible outcomes. I really appreciate all the people who have been so kind and wonderful to talk to.
